UPDATES, ADVENT & CHRISTMAS EVE

Hi dbKids Families,

Because we have gotten the okay to start opening up the Children’s Ministry - we will be putting our lessons on hold to focus more time and energy on getting the rooms ready.

UPDATES

As some of you may know, we are going to open our Children’s Ministry “minimally” to start - meaning less rooms open and less stuff in the rooms. This will help us 1) Figure out how many kids to expect in the next couple of months and 2) Avoid spreading germs in more places and on more surfaces.

That said, there is still a lot to do. We have an AMAZING group of supporters backing us, and we are so grateful. Our Work Day went so well and we are so encouraged by our crowd of volunteers and families. As we come up with a game plan, we will be reaching out to ask for help with specific tasks.

We will be sending an update as soon as we have a solid opening date.

ADVENT

We cannot believe it is already December! We miss having dbKids to celebrate the birth of our Savior with all month long. But to help get us open quicker, we will be postponing our lessons and instead encouraging our dbKids families to focus on Advent this year in their homes.

What is Advent?

It’s not just a countdown to Christmas - it’s also a way to remain focused on the reason for the season - Jesus coming down to earth to save us.

The best way to celebrate Advent is just to do it! There are ways to engage all ages - it may involve candy, a nativity scene made of toys, or scripture memorization.

Here are a few FREE Advent resources we really like:

Jesus Storybook Bible Advent Kit - Printables & Ornaments

Names of Jesus Advent Printables

Christmas Carols & Scripture Advent Printables

dbKids Nursery Advent Candles Devotional

CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas Eve Family Services will be held at 3pm and 5pm. Kids will be welcomed to the stage to join in singing two songs - Silent Night and Joy to the World! We encourage you to review the songs with your kids. Here are some videos with lyrics you can follow along to:

Enjoy the cool weather & family time, and we will see you soon.
