October 17-18
Hi dbKids Families,
In 2 Timothy, Paul starts his letter thanking God and longing to see his dear friend and brother in Christ. We can relate to Paul’s sentiments, feeling so distanced from the families we have grown to know in ministry. Paul continues his message by encouraging Timothy, reminding him to “fan into flame the gift of God… for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” Paul also encourages his friend not to be ashamed of the gospel message; and urges him to “guard the good deposit entrusted to [him]”. This letter is an encouragement to us all today to stand firm in God; to not be afraid; to not be ashamed of Christ; and despite suffering, to proclaim His message and share our testimony and the Good News. As parents & leaders of little ones, let’s soak up this encouragement and urge one another to stay strong in the Lord.
